The World Cup is coming to Lawrence, Kansas as Team Algeria makes Lawrence their home base for all of the excitement. Local officials estimate over 15,000 visitors will come to Lawrence between Thursday June 11, 2026, and Sunday July 19, 2026.
We plan to broadcast over 1,000 reports during this exciting event. We’ll be covering everything from team profiles, team standings, player news, and even local traffic conditions. There has never been anything like this in Lawrence Sports History and you’ll find it all right here.

World Cup Play, How Teams Qualify and Tie Breaker Criteria
The stage is set. The full list of 48 teams who will compete in the FIFA World Cup 2026™ is now confirmed and the 12 groups are complete for the global showpiece in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
The 104-game tournament kicks off on Thursday, 11 June as co-hosts Mexico tackle South Africa at Mexico City Stadium, and will conclude on Sunday, 19 July with the World Cup Final in New York New Jersey.
